Model of the Month!

July 2002 - Tamiya Stug III Ausf G. A newer kit, lovely casting detail.

July 2002 - Tamiya Panther Ausf A. An older kit, not as much casting detail, and some parts had to be cut to fit. It was cheap, tho, and the basic shape seems fine.

July 2002 - Tamiya Panzer IV Ausf J. Newer, retooled kit. Casting number details on the gun housing, and the tools are the sprue that every builder at Military Miniatures in Review (MMIR) always talks about using to replace whatever bad pieces are in the kit they're reviewing. The camouflage patterns on this and the above were lot's of fun to paint, using an airbrush and my spray booth. These were constructed, and then all painted together one hot morning. I love being in the bunker.

July 2002 - Academy Hellcat. Newer, retooled kit. Casting number details on the gun housing, cast texture on the mantlet. For a kit that is an upgrade of an older, motorized one, this is great. My only complaint is that many of the brush guards and handrails were attached to the sprue almost their full length. I just tossed them and used 22-guage wire.

July 2002 - Tamiya KV-II. The 70's era one - not a lot of detail. Just that big ol' boxy turret. In case you're curious, it says "For The Motherland", or, more precisely, "For Mother Russia" on the side.
